ANDOVER'S MP has said the town is 'perfectly positioned' to attract jobs and investment from the space industry.
Kit Malthouse's comments came after he joined space industry businesses and Parliamentarians to discuss the UK space sector.
The session was hosted in Parliament by trade associations ADS Group and UKSpace.
Speaking afterwards, Mr Malthouse said: “Space may be thousands of miles away, but it is an exciting and growing sector here in the UK.

"It is creating well-paid and interesting jobs in areas such as monitoring changes in the climate, weather forecasting, and managing disasters.
"I was delighted to hear that the sector is worth some £7 billion to our economy and employs almost 50,000 people already.
“We can and absolutely should throw everything we can at attracting the Space sector to Andover. Our town is the perfect location, with our already successful hi-tech and science businesses.”
