MARWELL Zoo is gearing up for Love Your Zoo week, a nationwide annual event orchestrated by the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA).

An entire programme is set to run from May 25 to June 2, coinciding with May half-term.

Marwell Zoo guests are invited to enjoy variety of activities, from animal-themed craft sessions to writing messages about what they love about the zoo to hang on a 'Wishing Tree' for all visitors to see.

Additionally, guests are encouraged to stop by, chat with animal keepers, and meet the zoo's newest additions, such as Warjun, the snow leopard, and a baby red river hoglet.

Daily craft sessions are a part of the festivities and will run from 10am to 3pm each day and are suitable for children aged three and above, facilitates the creation of wooden zoo crafts in Marwell Hall.

Another highlight is the animal-themed face painting on Marwell Hall Drive on May 28, 29, and 30, allowing children to transform into their favourite animals.

Fans of cosplay are also invited to don their favourite animal disguises and strike a pose for that perfect family shot or selfie in their preferred spot. To further amplify the fun, zoo-goers are urged to tag Marwell Zoo in their photos for sharing online.

Marwell Zoo’s social media channels will also host a competition, giving visitors a chance to win an impressive zoo prize.

If the activities build an appetite, Café Graze is also offering limited edition ‘Love Your Zoo’ biscuits. The café boasts a diverse food and drink menu with the added benefit of scenic views over the zoo’s Valley Field.

Alternatively, visitors can opt for a picnic at one of the many picturesque spots or huts scattered throughout the park.

Marwell Zoo features five adventure play areas and stretches over 140-acres, ensuring entertainment for children of all saunters.

Guests can stay informed by downloading the free Marwell Zoo app for a park map, feed times, and news, and hold onto their brollies as the British weather can be unpredictable.
