A large bank holiday crowd gathered at the Wiltshire circuit on Monday, August 28 to witness some of the closest racing this season, writes Tim Crisp.
In the CCRC GT Championship Class D leader Jamie Sturges in his Ramair Filters VW Golf TCR had two races around the 1.85 mile circuit.
In race one he finished the sixteen-lap race in fourth place overall and first in class. He also recorded the class fastest lap.
For Ray Ferguson it was not such a good race in his Ferrari 355 Berlinetta 3500 as his race came to an end on lap eight.
In race two it was more of the same for Sturges as he finished fifth overall, a class win and a fastest lap.
Due to the issue from race one Ferguson did not start race two.
In the CCRC FF1600 Championship races Class C runner Richard Earl from Alton had two outings in his Van Dieman RF88.
In race one he finished 15th and third in class and in race two, he finished 18th overall and third in class again.
Ray Ferguson was out again later in the day in the CCRC Hot Hatch Series in the MG ZR with two races. Ray was 16th overall and second in class and he did not start the second race.
