PLANS to build a new drive-through Costa Coffee are at risk of being rejected after the town council lodged an objection to an updated application.

As previously reported, the chain wants to open a drivethrough outlet on the roundabout on New Street, next to BP Munros petrol station and McDonald’s.

It will be Costa Coffee’s fourth cafe in Andover.

But the original plans, submitted in January, were withdrawn after concerns were raised by councillors about the impact the cafe could have on traffic.

Now the town council has objected to the plans after they were resubmitted and revised following their earlier complaints.
