AFTER last month’s Christmas fun in Overton it was finally Whitchurch’s turn to light-up and welcome in the festive season.
The town switched on its Christmas lights as families flooded the streets to take part in the popular late-night shopping event.
The annual Yuletide celebration saw businesses stay open until 8pm, while the historic Silk Mill hosted a number of crafters who sold their items to a backdrop of carols from choirs.
In the high-street, the Mayor and Mayoress Mike and Jan Keane switched on the town’s illuminations with help from Whitchurch’s Amateur Dramatic Society characters Lob and Gretel.
