HAMPSHIRE’S new fire chief has announced the appointment of his right hand man.
Neil Odin will take on the role of deputy chief officer at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service from January 1.
It comes after the current deputy, Dave Curry, was revealed as the service’s new chief officer.
He will replace the outgoing boss, John Bonney, who steps down from his role on December 31 after a decade in the job.
Mr Odin, who joined Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service as assistant chief officer in 2011, said: "It is a real honour to be chosen to serve as Hampshire's new deputy chief. "Our service is going through significant changes and I am delighted to form part of a strong new leadership team as we face the challenges ahead and continue to keep our communities safe." Mr Odin was chosen following a rigorous two-day selection process at the service’s headquarters in Eastleigh.
Incoming chief officer Mr Curry added: "Neil’s appointment will be important and influential in ensuring the Hampshire public continues to be served by one of the highest performing fire and rescue services in the country."
