HILARY James and Simon Mayor will be tracing the history of English Rural Life in music at Upper Clatford Village Hall in the new year And one lucky reader can win a pair of tickets to see English Sketches on Saturday, 10 January at 7.30pm.
In a show developed for The Museum of English Rural Life it portrays rural life in song, bellringing, country dance, high days and holidays, love, lust, loss, landscape and labour.
It has a virtuoso accompaniment on guitar, fiddle, the eight-stringed modern mandolin and bass plus a hearty dose of wit and repartee.
Doors and bar open at 7pm.
