FAMILIES enjoyed some festive fun at a community event in Overton.
Around 85 people young and old flocked to St Luke’s Hall, in Winchester Street for a family Christmas party.
The event, held by The Community Church (West), saw children take part in fun activities including colouring competitions, arts and crafts, ball games and a guess the number of sweets in a jar competition.
Youngsters also listened to the story of Christmas during a book reading and took part in a carol singing session.
For adults there was a raffle at the event with the chance to win an afternoon tea for two, which was donated by the Overton Gallery.
Earl Robinson, leader of the church, said: “This is the second time we have run this event. We do it to bless the community and share the Christmas story in a fun way, and also to change the perception of what the church is and what the church does.”
