THE Bombay Sapphire Distillery team, based in Laverstoke Mill, volunteered in Somerset to help conservation efforts for a blue butterfly.
The globally endangered Large Blue is the UK’s rarest butterfly which had been declared extinct in the UK in 1979 before it was successfully re-introduced to the Somerset countryside by the Butterfly Conservation.
The Bombay Sapphire team went to volunteer for the day to help with the conservation effort.
The butterfly shares a colour with the gin’s blue bottle and from October 25 to November 30, the distillery will have blue morpho butterflies living in its glasshouses.
