A ELECTRICIAN who recently launched his own business has been given a cash boost by the borough council.
Gavin Burgess, of GPB Electrical Services, has been awarded a £750 Business Incentive Grant by Test Valley Borough Council following the launch of his company last year.
GPB Electrical Services offers a range of domestic and commercial installation, maintenance and repairs for customers in Andover and the surrounding villages.
Andover Alamien ward member, Councillor Tracey Preston, presented the cheque to Gavin.
She said: “Starting your own business is no easy feat, so I am pleased to hear that Gavin is already gaining referrals for work.”
Gavin added: “I am really grateful at the response I have received after launching GPB Electrical Services.
“My friend recommended I apply for a Business Incentive Grant, after being awarded her own Independent Retailer Grant from the council last year.
“I am really pleased that I qualified for a Business Incentive Grant and that the council were able to support me as I set up my new business.”
Business Incentive Grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Successful applicants will receive £750 if their business is still going strong six months later.
