HUNDREDS of young footballers celebrated success at annual tournament which proved to be triumphant for the home sides.
Andover New Street Youth FC hosted a weekend of football on May 18 and 19 for 124 teams across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire and Dorset.
Squads ranging from under sevens to under 16s took part, each vying to win a trophy.
Club secretary Chris Green said: “The tournament is to celebrate all our teams success throughout the year and get all the teams to come together.”
For the host teams, there was plenty to cheer about as many of its sides reached the semi-finals and succeeded in becoming runners-up.
But for the under 11 girls there was great success, as both teams reached the Plate Trophy Final to finish as winner and runner-up, and there were more celebrations for the under 12 girls Swifts team who won the Main Trophy Final.
The under 10s youth side continued from their league trophy event success with another Main Trophy win over rivals South Ham, and for the under 12s youth side they finished as competition winners.
Speaking about the tournament, Chris said: “It was absolutely wonderful, everyone said how well organised it was, and everyone was so friendly, loads of laughter, fun and enjoyment.
“Parents were cheering and clapping, it was a really good social environment.”
