A NEW directory highlighting retail businesses that remain open during the coronavirus lockdown has been launched by Test Valley Borough Council.
The ‘shop local’ business directory is a resource to help people source food, drink and other services online while supporting local businesses who are adapting to keep their business going.
The directory can be found at www.testvalley.gov.uk/shoplocal and focuses on three areas – Andover, Romsey and Stockbridge and their surrounding villages.
Categories include digital services, post offices, food and drink, gifts and more, with businesses including Black Chalk Wine, Barton Stacey Post Office and Stores and Gambledown Farm featured.
Economic portfolio holder, Councillor David Drew, said: “This is an excellent source of information to help residents find local suppliers who have adapted their businesses to enable home delivery.
“During the lockdown period, and into the recovery phase, it is vital that we all support local businesses, thereby encouraging the recovery of the local economy.”
Any businesses in Test Valley that wish to be included in the directory are asked to email their details to econdev@testvalley.gov.uk
The council has a wide range of guidance and information relating to the coronavirus pandemic which can be accessed at www.testvalley.gov.uk/coronavirus-covid-19
