ADELAIDE Medical Centre is to continue providing GP services to patients in Andover after plans to allow new GP Partners to join the surgery were approved by NHS West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group.

The new GP Partners will join Adelaide Medical Centre prior to October 31 to enable the continued provision of NHS services to all registered patients

Patients will be able to access the same services with Adelaide Medical Centre in the normal way. GPs and staff currently working at the surgery will remain.

Adelaide Medical Centre, which has around 9,000 registered patients, provides NHS services from surgery premises in Adelaide Road, Andover.

Dr Paul O’Halloran, a GP joining the surgery, said, “I am delighted to be shortly joining the team as a Partner to help Adelaide Medical Centre become a thriving and sustainable NHS medical practice. It is fantastic that we have been able to retain the current clinicians and staff to protect continuity. My role as transformational partner is to ensure that ultimately patients receive the best possible care.”

Dr Liz Angier, clinical director, primary care and community services, NHS West Hampshire CCG, added: "All of the practices in Andover are supportive of this decision which provides a strong foundation on which to support both patients and staff to move forward.”
