THE STORY of Burgos Pet World dates back to 1972,
Richie Burgess' grandfather first opened a pet store in Ragged Appleshaw, in 1972, before relocating to Andover three years later.
His shop remained in town for 37 years until his retirement.
The shop then went back to Ragged Appleshaw where it was run by his youngest son Danny.
But last, the business was brought back to the High Street in Andover.
But the father and son team weren't about to rest on their laurels.
On Saturday, they formally opened an extension to provide an aquatic centre.
"We opened the shop as it was always our dream to come back to Andover." Richie told the Advertiser.
"And the support we have had as an independent shop has been amazing.
"We invite you all to pop in and have a look at our new aquatic side of the shop."
The team also donated £100 to Iris Andersen, who has been raising money for teenager Toby Pearce, who requires a new wheelchair.
On top of that, the pet shops is running a 'feed our Koi' event for £1 every Saturday with all money going towards Toby.
