AN interactive map reveals the most searched for famous people in towns across Hampshire.
The map, which can be found through this link, uses the most popular searches on Wikipedia to change the face of the county.
Towns and cities are instead replaced by celebrities or iconic historic figures who are connected to our county.
The People Map of the UK website is based on data collected and processed from Wikipedia from July 2015 to May 2019.
Using the map, here are the most searched for people from each area of Hampshire.
Basingstoke
Elizabeth Jane Hurley was born in 1965 in Basingstoke where she attended the Costello School.
In her teens, she became involved with punk fashion, dyeing her hair pink and piercing her nose: "When I was 16 – this was about 1981, 1982 – the thing to be in Basingstoke, the suburb I grew up in, was punk," she explained.
She is best known for her performance in the spy spoof Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and for being the face of Estée Lauder.
She has also graced the cover of British Vogue three times.
Andover
Katie Piper is a writer, activist, television presenter and model from Andover, Hampshire.
In March 2008, she was attacked with acid by her ex-boyfriend and an accomplice, causing major damage to her face and blindness in one eye.
In 2009, she gave up her right to anonymity to increase awareness about burn victims. Her experience was documented in the 2009 Channel 4 documentary Katie: My Beautiful Face part of the Cutting Edge series.
She now has released a best-selling autobiography, and often appears on our TV screens.
Her main work however, has been for the Katie Piper Foundation, which she founded to help victims of burns and other disfigurement injuries.
Coming top for Winchester was the Oscar winning actor Colin Firth.
One of the country's best-known actors, staring in some of Britain's favourite films and TV dramas including Pride and Prejudice, Bridget Jones' Diary, The King's Speech and Love Actually.
Colin was born in the village of Grayshott to parents Shirley Jean and David Norman Lewis Firth.
Whilst he moved around a lot during his childhood the family always ended up back in Hampshire.
He attended The Montgomery of Alamein Secondary School, now known as The King's School in Winchester and his passion for acting blossomed when appeared in plays in the village hall in Ropley.
He's won numerous awards such as an Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Critic's Choice award for best actor in The King's Speech.
Southampton
The comedian, actor, singer and writer is best remembered for his television programme The Benny Hill Show.
Its pioneering combination of cheeky humour, songs and impressions were to make it a hit for the next 40 years.
Hill was born in Southampton and became a prominent figure in British culture for nearly four decades and his show was among the most-watched programmes in the UK with the audience peaking at more than 21 million in 1971.
Bishops Waltham
Amanda Louise Holden came out top for Bishops Waltham as the singer grew up and discovered her passion for music here.
The actress, singer and presenter is best known as a judge on ITV's Britain's Got Talent since its first series in 2007.
More recently she has presented various television and radio shows such as This Morning and the Heart Breakfast radio show.
Petersfield
The twice Model of the Year winner Cara Delevingne is the most popular celebrity for Petersfield despite only living there for a year.
Delevingne started her acting career with a minor role in the 2012 film adaptation of Anna Karenina, her most notable roles include Margo Roth Spiegelman in the romantic mystery film Paper Towns and the Enchantress in the comic book film Suicide Squad.
At 16, after completing GCSE’s she moved to Beadales School to focus on drama and music but after a year dropped out and went into modelling.
