One part of Andover has seen almost 100 new cases of coronavirus in a week.
The Andover London Road and East Anton area, which contains the Vigo Road area of the town centre plus Picket Twenty, Picket Piece, Augusta Park, Knights Enham, Enham Alamein and Upper Enham, has record 99 new Covid cases in the seven days to January 5.
It comes as medical officials have warned that it is currently the 'most dangerous time' of the pandemic.
Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty, told the BBC that the next few weeks will be "the worst weeks of the pandemic" for the NHS.
“This new variant is really pushing things in a way that the old variant – which was already very bad – was not able to," he said.
“So, we have a very significant problem … this is a serious problem and it is rising in every part of England.
“The next few weeks are going to be the worst weeks of this pandemic in terms of numbers into the NHS.”
In Andover, case rates are remaining high.
Tidworth and Ludgershall has the highest rolling rate in the area, recording 115 new cases in the week to January 5.
That's up 54 compared to the previous week, meaning the Middle Layer Super Output Area (MSOA) has seen an increase in cases of 88.5 per cent.
Cases are rising across almost all of Andover, with the Andover Charlton and Bourne Valley area seeing the same number of new cases compared to the previous week, whilst Andover Central has actually recorded four fewer.
An interactive map on the government website shows just how many people have tested positive for the virus in each area of the county over the seven-day period up to Tuesday, December 29.
The interactive map allows users to type in their postcode and see how many cases were reported in their area and if it has increased or decreased from the week before. The darker the colour on the image, the more positive test results have been recorded.
The map highlights which areas of the nation have three or more confirmed cases of the virus and colour co-coordinates the areas by how many cases they have.
The latest figures reflect the period around the time that Prime Minister Boris Johnson decided to put England into a new national lockdown.
