THIS Valentine’s Day, the youngest members of the Whitchurch community made special cards for some of the older people in the area.
The cute cards were made by the little ones at the Rising Five Pre-School Group.
They were then delivered by the Kingfisher Day Centre as part of its outreach work while the centre is closed due to coronavirus restrictions.
The recipients were delighted with their cards and the children’s efforts put many smiles on faces.
One recipient said the card “brought a tear to her eye with how wonderful it was.”
Both the Rising Fives and Kingfisher centre are supported by the Coop Local Community fund.
They came together to share a bit of happiness across the generations this Valentine’s Day, at a time when many older people may be feeling isolated.
