THOSE sentenced in in the first two months of 2021 include a woman who pushed over and robbed an 83-year-old and three men who were caught with £6.6 million worth of cocaine. 

Courts across the county have given out hefty prison sentences for all manner of crimes over the last two months.

These are just some of the court cases our reporters have covered in so far in 2021.

Here are the criminals and their crimes:

Terence Maccabee

On Tuesday February 16, Terence Maccabee, of Radnor Road, Peckham, was jailed for 13 years.

The 20-year-old had been found not guilty of murdering Taylor Williams, but guilty of manslaughter, during a trial in November last year.

He had also been found guilty of robbery, conspiracy to rob and possession of a bladed article.

Maccabee was jailed for a total of 13 years following the hearing at Winchester Crown Court.

Taylor Williams, from Bromley, was found in Shooters Way, Basingstoke, on Saturday 31 August, 2019. He had been stabbed and later died in hospital.

Ruby Ventham

Ruby Ventham pushed an 83-year-old victim to floor and robbed her in her own home.

The 27-year-old ran out of the woman's bungalow in Belmond Road, Chandler's Ford making off with store cards, debit cards and approximately £80 in cash.

She was jailed for four years.

Shafiullah Zahid

The Southampton man was jailed for 'predatory' rapes after attacking a woman in his van.

Shafiullah Zahid approached the woman who was alone after a night out.

The 33-year-old of Sirdar Road offered her a lift home only to rape her twixe.

He was jailed for seven and a half years.

Lee Matthews, Jason Jay Stanley and Robert David Hey

Lee Matthews, 37, of Field Way, was sentenced to fifteen years and three months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs.

Two other men, Jason Jay Stanley, 20, of Passingham Walk in Waterlooville, and Robert David Hey, 41, of Upper Arundel Street in Portsmouth, were each jailed for seven and a half years at Portsmouth Crown Court.

On October 2 2019, officers conducted a proactive stop on Jason Stanley’s vehicle, in which they found 4 kilograms of cocaine.

This then led officers to a lockup at Clamp Farm, Newtown, where a further 68kgs of cocaine, 25kg of amphetamine, along with a handgun, silencer, and 50 rounds of ammunition were seized.

Timothy Peter Brown, Graham Smith and Louise Victoria April Spence

Police were called to a flat on East Hill Road, Isle of Wight, shortly before 8pm on 27 December 2019, where a man in his 40s had sustained injuries to his face, back and arm, caused by a knife. During the incident, approximately £1,500 in cash was stolen from the address.

All three pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and Smith and Brown also admitted wounding with intent.

Appearing at the same court, Smith was jailed for 12 years, Brown was jailed for 12 years and 4 months, and Spence was jailed for nine and a half years.
