LAST Saturday I had one of my inspirational moments: “Thinking of the nicest people I could remember when I was growing up”.
It was such a profound moment that it literally shook me rigid. Mine were teachers.
In life as I am sure you will concede we are all teachers and pupils. We’re learning and absorbing from everyone and anyone.
All our experiences teach us something, indeed if we didn’t learn it the first time round, then you will, the next time something similar happens. Invariably, one will think: “ Oh my goodness this reminds me of the time…”
Kindness is the one thing that the blind can ‘see’ and feel, and the deaf can ‘hear’ and sense.
Niceness and gentleness are what we will remember in others, long after the fleeing encounter has passed. Put simply, how others make us feel about ourselves is what we are left with.
It follows if they made us feel techy, irritable, angry, guarded, jealous, unsettled, uncomfortable, drained, or any other negative feelings, then we will tend to think of them in a less than a complimentary way. People who are nice in themselves, will bathe others in their wholesome beneficial auras.
You will know when you are in the presence of someone like this because you will find yourself relaxing, smiling, feeling comfortable and at ease. You will mostly find these kind of walking angels gravitate to a life in the clergy, but not exclusively.
You may have heard this kind of sentiment expressed in this way: “They have a good bedside manner”.
In my lifetime I have been blessed to come across many, that have that: “Pink powder way about them”.
It’s not a tangible product that you are able to purchase.
But you can develop this attribute by simply tuning into other people’s vibration so you’re on their wavelength.
Perfect harmony is achieved when you are in total sync with those you are with.
Highlighting other people strengths and ignoring their weaknesses is what we all need.
Heaven only knows, we know only too well what are own faults are.
But our individual worlds, where people only see the good in us? That is true utopia.
That is what great teachers do. That is something we all could learn to do.
Finally, thanks for supporting this column with your positive online comments. It’s so appreciated.
