Police in Andover have arrested a man on suspicion of robbery following a pursuit in town this afternoon.
Officers arrested an Andover man on suspicion of robbery after chasing him on foot down Harrow Way. The man is accused of robbing the branch of Lidl on Western Avenue on Sunday.
Police officers successfully arrested the suspect, who is presently in custody.
The arrest follows officers being called to the branch of Lidl on Sunday, March 7 at just before 3:40pm after reports of a robbery. A quantity of cash had been stolen during the incident.
Following enquiries by officers, a 29-year-old man from Andover was identified as a suspect. He was pursued by officers before being arrested on suspicion of robbery.
He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
