AS A WAY of thanking the leading women in our lives, we invited readers to share their messages of gratitude this Mother’s Day.
Many Andover residents got in touch to express their thanks to their mums.
Jacob Hughes sent a photo of his mum and dad, writing: “I feel that you should put this is for your Mother’s Day special because my mum is one in a million, she and my father brought all 13 of us up and has done an amazing job.”
As a message to his mum, Jacob added: “Happy Mother’s Day Mum from your 12 sons and your only daughter. We love you and everything you have done for us!! Thank you.”
Caroline Hicks wanted the message to be unexpected for her mum.
She wrote: “Surprise!! Happy Mother’s Day. Hope you have a lovely day and looking forward to the time when we can have a mother and daughter day again.
Lots and Lots of Love. Caroline and Andy.”
Claire kept the message short, but wanted to surprise her mum.
She wrote: “To mum, Happy mothers day have a lovely day. Love From Claire.”
Libby Lewis’ daughter has sent her mum this message: “She’s been a fantastic help and support to me, my husband and children during the last year. She’s one in a million and we love her so much.”
Julie Sams has wished a speedy recovery for her mum, writing: "A picture of my lovely mum and her three great granddaughter's. Last year she found out that she had breast cancer. Happy mother's day."
Katie has shared her wishes to her dear ones, writing: “Happy Mother’s Day to three amazing women - my mum Helen, my nan Sylvia and my step-mum Jane.”
James sends his love to his mum, writing: “To Mum, have a wonderful day this Mother’s Day, and hopefully next year we’ll be able to visit all the sights we’ve missed out on recently. Have a drink on me! Love James.”
Thanks to lockdown restrictions we might not be able to treat our mums to lunch on March 14 - but you can meet her because of change of rules from Monday.
Meeting your mum one-on-one for a picnic or walk in the park would be a great way to enjoy each other’s company - likely for the first time in a while.
With many local restaurants now offering take-away options, taking care of dinner might be the simple treat your mum needs, all whilst supporting local businesses.
Here’s hoping the Mums in Andover realise how appreciated they are and how much they have been missed this year.
