ITV is on the lookout for ‘competitive’ teams of two who think they have got what it takes to beat The Cube.
Following the success of last year, Phillip Schofield will return to present the hit show The Cube, as contestants attempt to win a whopping £250,000 jackpot prize.
The show's jackpot reached £1 million in last year's series, but ITV said the forthcoming run will revert to a £250,000 prize.
Unlike most game shows, this one doesn't require general knowledge but contestants will have to work well with their team mate to tackle the high pressure challenges.
Contestants will take on high deceptively easy tasks inside the iconic and often punishing Perspex box.
Each pair will have nine lives to complete seven games, each worth an increasing amount of money, as they move closer to the £250,000 jackpot.
No-one has ever managed to beat the Cube since it began in 2009, aside from a celebrity special that saw Mo Farah bag the top prize.
Since the show began in 2009, no one has beaten The Cube in the normal episodes.
Mo Farah is the only person to ever win the top prize after he came out on top in the celebrity version for charity during the ninth series.
An advert for the show reads: “Do you want to join Phillip Schofield on the brand-new series of The Cube? We are looking for competitive teams of two from the same household/household support bubble (partners, parent/child, siblings or flatmates/ friends) with a mix of abilities and personalities.
“Remember, there are NO general knowledge questions to answer. The Cube will set you and your teammate a series of physical and mental challenges for the chance to win a huge cash prize of £250,000!
“Can you work together to take on the ultimate TV gameshow in the hope of beating The Cube?”
As well as the six-part contestant series, there will also be a two new celebrity specials as famous faces attempt to beat The Cube and win £250,000 for their chosen charity.
Phillip Schofield said: “It was such a treat to be back in the studio last year, with the pairs of contestants adding a whole new twist on the drama inside the box. This series you’ll see a whole new side to The Cube… get ready to be on the edge of your sofas!”
