SPRING is in the air .. or is it?
Just as the sun has made its way into the skies over Andover, it looks like we are in for another drastic change in weather over the next week.
Temperatures are set to remain nice and warm for the next couple of days, with highs of 18°C on Thursday (April 1).
However, after a “partly cloudy” but pleasant Easter weekend, temperatures are set to plummet and snow to make an appearance.
Between Monday (April 5) and Saturday (April 10), “snow showers” are forecast, with maximum temperatures of 8°C during the day, and lows of -1°C at night.
Unfortunately, the forecast currently predicts the snow to be mixed with rain, making for less-than-ideal sledging weather.
While such varying temperatures in April may seem worrying, the Met Office claims it’s “not unusual”.
Met Office chief meteorologist Frank Saunders said: “A cold front will bring a band of rain and blustery conditions for many and there will be a marked drop in temperatures.
“There will be some wintry showers in places with some lying snow”
The Met Office added that the coldest Easter weekend on record is 2013 when -12.5°C was recorded at Braemar in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on Easter Sunday.
- All forecasts are correct as per The Weather Channel on Wednesday, March 31 at 3pm.
