A man is set to stand trial after being accused of taking a vehicle without consent.
Graham Escott, of Southend Road in Bradfield Southend, near Thatcham, allegedly took the vehicle from Andover on March 2, 2020.
He is further charged with driving whilst disqualified and without insurance on Swift Close on the same day.
The 61-year-old has pleaded not guilty to all three charges and is set to stand trial on April 12 at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.
A man has been banned from driving for 18 months after he was caught drink driving in Andover.
Antonia Nicholas Ruta was also given a £420 fine after being spotted behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf in Roman Way on February 13.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court heard that the 20-year-old did not have insurance on the car at the time, and was fined another £420.
The man, of Genoa Court in Andover, was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £84 and costs of £85.
He was given no separate penalty after admitting that he failed to attend court last Tuesday.
A Salisbury man was caught almost three and a half times the drink drive limit in Stockbridge, a court has heard.
Michael John Pratt, of Link Way, was behind the wheel of a Citreon van on the B3049 on February 23 when he was under the influence of alcohol.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court was told how the 32-year-old had 120 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, where the legal limit is 35.
Pratt was given a community order when appearing at court last Thursday, meaning he must complete ten rehabilitation activity days and 120 hours of unpaid work in the next twelve months.
He was further banned from driving for 29 months, and ordered to pay costs and a victim surcharge totalling £180.
An Andover man will stand trial next month after denying assaulting two women.
Steven James Watt, of New Street, has pleaded not guilty to the assaults, which is said to have happened in the town on February 15.
He will stand trial at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on May 10.
The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing a leg of lamb from Iceland on the same day, and will be sentenced after the trial.
