Police in Andover have said town residents shouldn’t worry after reports of police ‘rushing’ through the Chantry Centre earlier today (April 5).
An eyewitness told the Advertiser that they saw a police car pull up on the High Street near J4K before two police officers got out and “rushed through the Chantry Centre” at around 1:30pm today.
In a statement, Hampshire Constabulary said that officers were responding to an alarm that had been set off in one of the centre’s shops, having received a call at 1:27pm.
They said that they found all was in order at the shop on their arrival, with officers then continuing with their day.
