A PENSIONER from Andover will celebrate her 77th birthday taking on a daredevil stunt.
Angela Silverman, from Amport, will spend her special day wing walking in aid of Hampshire charity Naomi House & Jacksplace.
The Naomi House hospice in Sutton Scotney provides respite, emergency and end of life care to life-limited children and young people across the central south of England.
Angela originally wanted to take on this unique challenge last year, for her 76th Birthday, but due to Covid-19 restrictions her adventurous challenge will now be taking place this July.
At 10am on July 10, Angela will take to the skies, strapped to the top wing of a Stearman Biplane and experience an exciting series of flypasts, zoom climbs, steep dives and banks in front of family and friends.
“There has to be a good reason for doing this, and I have two," the 76-year-old said.
"To raise as much money as possible for a wonderful organisation; Naomi House & Jacksplace, I want to raise £20,000 and it is also a great way to celebrate my 77th birthday!”
Lucy Gray, Regional Fundraiser for Naomi House & Jacksplace commented: “Wing Walking is such an innovative and exciting way to fundraise and to celebrate a special occasion.
"We are in total awe of Angela’s fearless attitude and we can’t wait to see her Wing Walk to raise money for Naomi House & Jacksplace this summer. Thank you, Angela!”
Angela is a self-proclaimed ‘daredevil’ and she has taken on other mighty ambitious challenges in her lifetime, including Bungee jumping from the tallest bridge in South Africa, Tandem sky diving in Namibia and Maidenhead, water rafting in Zimbabwe, Para gliding in Rio De Janeiro and completing a Wing Walk was next on the bucket list.
