A WOMAN found more than double the drink-drive limit whilst behind the wheel of a car at an international airport has been banned from driving.
Emma Jones, who is formerly of Brackenbury in Andover, was behind the wheel of a silver Volkswagen Polo at the drop-off area of Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport in 2019.
The court heard that the 23-year-old had 76 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath - where the legal limit is 35.
Jones had denied the charge which related to an incident on July 21, 2019 but was found guilty at a trial at Greater Manchester Magistrates' Court last month.
The woman, now of Central Road in Didsbury, was banned from driving for 19 months and fined £400.
Disqualification from driving was obligatory for this offence, but Jones will have the opportunity to reduce the length of the ban by 19 weeks should she complete successfully an awareness course by May 6, 2022.
She must also pay court costs of £1,860 and a victim surcharge of £40.
Jones will pay £150 per month of the balance.
