Primark theft and assault
AN ANDOVER woman must pay compensation after stealing from Primark and assaulting a woman in a car park.
Samantha Grimes, of Dene Court, was caught stealing £21 of items from the Primark store on Christchurch Road in Boscombe, Bournemouth, in November 2019.
The woman, also known as Samantha North, further admitted assault by beating at the car park of the Castlepoint shopping centre in Bournemouth in June 2018.
The 35-year-old was ordered to pay £50 in compensation to the victim, whilst she was given no separate penalty for the theft.
Man admits stealing beer
A MAN who assaulted a man in a Winchester department store’s car park and stole a bottle of beer has been given a community order.
Douglas Peter Strike, of Welham Court, admitted assaulting the man and taking the beer from Marks and Spencer in Tanner Street on April 17 at an earlier hearing.
He also appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court last Friday accused of stealing £13 of alcohol from Andover’s Lidl and assaulting a man on April 21.
Further, he admitted damaging a wall belonging to Aster on April 19.
The 33-year-old was ordered to complete 20 rehabilitation activity days and pay £50 in compensation to each assault victim.
Breach of bail
AN ANDOVER man accused of assaulting a woman on Christmas Eve has admitted breaching his bail conditions.
Lukasz Palasz was arrested at a property in Kings Chase, Andover, on May 10, when bail conditions imposed by Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court three months earlier prohibited him from going to that address.
The 31-year-old was re-admitted to his bail at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Monday, pending the trial on October 4. Palasz denies the charge.
Caught doing 83mph on A303
A man will appear in court after admitting speeding in a Mitsubishi L200 near Andover.
Sebastian Chambers, of Deep Lane in Corsley, near Warminster, admitted driving the vehicle at 83 miles per hour on the A303 at Parkhouse Cross on October 22, 2020.
He was again caught speeding in the same place on January 11, 2021, this time at 81 mph.
However, on Monday the case was adjourned for a full hearing after it was decided that it was not suitable for the single justice procedure.
