GBH denial
A MAN has denied inflicting grievous bodily harm on an man in Andover.
Dean Cooper, of Vale Road in West Lulworth, Wareham, has been charged with unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm against the man in the town on March 15, 2020.
Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week, he pleaded not guilty.
The 38-year-old has been released on unconditional bail, pending the next hearing at Winchester Crown Court on August 18.
Pensioner discharged
AN ANDOVER pensioner has been conditionally discharged after being convicted of assaulting a woman.
John Youd, of Hanson Road, was found to have assaulted the woman in the town on May 8, 2020, having initially denied the charges.
He was also convicted of damaging a fence, valued at £30, and a public order offence after a trial at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week.
The 80-year-old was conditionally discharged for eighteen months.
Youd was ordered to pay total compensation of £145, a victim surcharge of £22 and costs of £100.
Case dismissed
A MAN has been found not guilty of assaulting a woman in Andover.
Ebrim Bojang, aged 31 of Hawker Siddeley Way, had stood accused of assaulting the woman in the town on November 18, as well as criminal damage and a public order offence.
Having initially denied the charges, he was found not guilty in a trial at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week.
100mph driver fined
A MAN caught behind the wheel of an Audi at 100 miles per hour has been fined.
Marcus John Tyler, of Ribble Court, was driving the Audi A3 at 100 miles per hour on the A303 near Longparish on January 18.
The 23-year-old was fined £276 after he admitted the charge, and ordered to pay costs of £90.
He must pay a £34 victim surcharge and was given six points on his licence.
Meanwhile, a woman has been fined after she was caught driving without insurance.
Yasmine Isabelle Rawlings, of The Drove, was behind the wheel of a Peugeot 207 on Cricketers Way on February 28, when there was no insurance on the vehicle.
The 26-year-old was fined £166. She was also ordered to pay costs of £90 and a £34 victim surcharge.
Six points were put on her licence.
