AN ANDOVER man has been charged with assaulting a Tesco Extra worker outside the River Way store last week, and will appear in court this morning.
Officers have been investigating the serious assault in Andover which happened on Thursday evening (July 29).
Shane Richard Donovan, 27, of York Court in Andover, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
It comes after police were called at 9.18pm to reports of a 62-year-old man having been assaulted.
The victim was taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are described as life-threatening.
An 18-year-old man, a 28-year-old man, and a 36-year-old woman, all from Andover, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, and have all been released on police bail.
Mr Donovan is due to appear before Basingstoke Magistrates Court this morning, Monday, August 2.
