A SET of current and former England internationals have been lined up to face a Shrewton Cricket Club XI.
It is part of a testimonial match for Surrey player Rikki Clarke, to be played at the Tidworth Cricket Ground.
The Rikki Clarke XI will include current England players Rory Burns, Ollie Pope and Ben Foakes, as well as Jade Dernbach, Jamie Overton, Gareth Batty, and Mark Stoneman, among others.
Rikki has been a top-class all-rounder for more than 20 years, with almost 18,000 runs and 800 wickets to his name.
There will also be a Red Devils parachute display on the day, as well as performances from Steel Band, Shrewton Silver Band, and Military Bugles.
Facilities will include food and drink retail outlets, and offsite car park with park and ride, and marquee hospitality.
Proceeds from the match will go to The Professional Cricketers’ Trust and Cure Leukaemia.
Rikki said: "The Trust provides support to all members past and present and to their immediate families. The work they do is invaluable. Unfortunately, some cricketers do fall on hard times and with the Trust there to support it makes tough and emotional situations a little easier."
About Cure Leukaemia, he said: "During my time at Warwickshire, we built up a very good relationship with Cure Leukaemia and would regularly visit the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, and visit the patients, listening to their stories and offering any help possible during their time battling with this horrible blood cancer disease.
"Professor Charlie Craddock CBE does an incredible job, and we hope that we can support his good work even more."
The game is will be twenty overs a side, and is on Sunday, September 26.
