A VICTIM was chased and attacked by a man carrying a knife on Saturday night in Andover as police have issued an appeal for witnesses.
The victim was talking along King Arthur's Way junction on the A343 between 11pm and 11.15pm when he was threatened by a man with a knife who was the passenger in a black car.
The offender got out of the car, brandishing a knife, before chasing the victim on foot. After managing to catch up with the victim, he suffered an injury to his left hand, police said.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: "The suspect was described as being a black male, aged around 25, 6ft tall and of slim build.
"He had black braided hair and was wearing a black Nike tracksuit."
Officers have issued an appeal for witnesses and are asking members of the public with information to come forward.
The spokesman said: "Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you saw someone matching this description, or have dash-cam footage that might assist us?

It is the latest incidence of violence in Andover in recent weeks. Tesco worker John Carroll died after being attacked.
