A WOMAN who was rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped under a forklift at an Andover warehouse has suffered ‘life-changing but not life-threatening’ injuries, police have revealed.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene on MacAdam Way in the West Portway Industrial Park on Friday afternoon (August 13), where they worked to ‘extricate’ the woman’s leg from beneath the machinery.
She was later airlifted to hospital, accompanied by the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service’s critical care team.
Now, a spokesperson for Hampshire has told the Advertiser that police are carrying out enquiries into the incident.
They said: “We were called around 1.20pm today (August 13) to a report of a woman being trapped under a forklift truck in MacAdam Way, Andover.
“The woman is believed to have suffered life-changing, but not life-threatening, injuries, and has been taken to hospital.
“Officers are carrying out enquiries as to the exact circumstances of the incident in conjunction with Health and Safety Executive.”
The Advertiser has contacted the Health and Safety Executive government agency for comment.
