A WOMAN who fell approximately 20ft down a steep embankment was rescued by firefighters from Ludgershall.
The incident, in Amesbury, was reported to Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) at around 11.10am on Sunday (August 15).
A crew from Ludgershall and technical rescue teams from Chippenham and Trowbridge were called to a location off Lords Walk and Ratfyn Road.
Rope rescue equipment was used to bring the woman to safety and she was handed into the care of the ambulance service.
A spokesperson for DWFRS said: "We were called to a location off Lords Walk and Ratfyn Road, Amesbury at 11.11am yesterday to assist a woman who had fallen approx. 20ft down a steep embankment.
"A crew from Ludgershall and technical rescue teams from Chippenham and Trowbridge attended, and used rope rescue equipment to bring the woman and another member of the public who had stayed with her to the path, where the casualty was handed into the care of the ambulance service."
The incident was dealt with by around 1.30pm.
