Congratulations to James Lanham Pope, who has been voted as the winner of the Basingstoke Gazette and Andover Advertiser Child of the Year contest for 3-6 years age category.
James was chosen as the winner after contesting with 24 other toddlers who were nominated for the final of the Child of the Year contest.
The four-year-old’s photo was sent by his mum Teresa, who said she was so excited to hear about the news.
Although he is only four, James is also thrilled to know that he has won a prize.
“James is excited too. We are all so delighted to hear the news,” Teresa said.
Teresa saw the invitation to apply for the Child of the Year contest on the Andover Advertiser newspaper and decided to nominate her son.
It was one of the last entries, but Teresa said she is happy she did so.
James lives with his dad Alan, mum Teresa and sister Holly in Andover.
Spider-Man is favourite character and he loves playing superheroes.
He also loves music and singing, and he loves listening to new songs.
The Child of the Year pictures were published on August 5, 2021, edition of the Gazette.
There were four age categories - 0-9 months, 10-18 months, 19-36 months and 3-6 days.
The winners were selected based on the number of votes we received with the coupon published along with the contest pictures.
