THERE is a new opportunity for budding entrepreneurs in Andover as the council has put out a call for a potential cafe or ice cream parlour in the town’s Riverside Park.

Test Valley Borough Council is inviting “expressions of interest” from businesses to take on the former Just Kutz hairdressing unit.

Posting on Facebook, council leader Cllr Phil North wrote: “When we opened the new Riverside Park earlier this year, it struck me that the former Just Kutz unit would make a perfect location for a high quality takeaway cafe or ice cream shop - or a combination of the two.

“I knew at the time that changes were afoot - with Just Kutz announcing at the end of August that Mazz is retiring and that Maggie has decided to continue the business in a mobile form.

“It’s been great to see so many people spending time in the park, particularly when the weather has been good, grabbing a bite to eat, reading a book or feeding the ducks. And so with ready-made footfall, I’m sure this will be a great opportunity for a new business or an existing eatery wishing to expand - to set up shop.”

The Town Mills Riverside Park opened to the public in march, with the official launch taking place in June.
