A MAN who was arrested following a fracas in the Chantry Centre earlier this week has been released under investigation.
Police were called at 4.27pm on Tuesday afternoon (September 14) to a report that a man had been attempting to engage in fraudulent activity at Poundland on Andover High Street.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson told the Advertiser: "When challenged, the man became aggressive and later assaulted two town rangers near the Chantry Centre, Chantry Street. They were not seriously injured.
"Officers attended and arrested a 39-year-old man from Worcestershire on suspicion of fraud by false representation and two counts of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm."
Now, a spokesperson has confirmed that the man has been released under investigation on all three offences.
