AN ANDOVER nightclub which was on fire earlier today has confirmed it will be open as usual this weekend.
Firefighters scrambled to the scene of Cameo & Vinyl in Andover this lunch time (Wednesday, September 22), following reports of smoke.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service told the Advertiser that firefighters from Andover, Sutton Scotney, Whitchurch and Basingstoke attended the scene in London Street, Andover, after reports of smoke coming from a side entrance to the venue.
All persons were accounted for and two hose reels, one jet and an aerial platform ladder are currently in use.
Speaking at the time, a spokesperson from Cameo Andover said: “Thankfully no one has been hurt and we are working with the fire brigade to understand the origins of the fire and whether or not we can open for trading.
"We will post the latest updates on our social media channels as and when we have more information. We’d like to thank the emergency services for their swift response.”
However, they have since confirmed that the club "will be open for trade this weekend".
