A BUSINESSWOMAN from Goodworth Clatford has become a published author as part of an anthology celebrating inspiring female entrepreneurs.
Becky Stevens runs the business Silver Beats and Treats, for which she makes handcrafted silver jewellery, created a beginner silver clay jewellery kit, teaches beginner piano and brass, and makes chocolate-based fudge.
The 41-year-old says she saw her business really take off after joining the Hampshire Women’s Business Group on Facebook, run by Trudy Simmonds.
Trust then asked Becky to contribute to a new book, aimed at inspiring other women into the business world.
Becky told the Advertiser: “With the support of this group, and Trudy's business acumen, I have seen my business grow beyond my imagination.
“Many of the stories within the book are Hampshire based women, but Trudy is international, so there's some amazing international stories too.”
The mother-of-three added: “I was overwhelmed when Trudy invited me to write a chapter, I didn't think my story was worthy.
“But Trudy reminded me that my business journey of defiance and perseverance through tough times was one that everyone would relate to and be inspired by.”
The book, entitled Shine On You Crazy Daisy, launched at the start of this month, and shot to number three in the bestseller list for business e-books.
The paper book is available at Amazon, and there are also podcasts for each of the chapter's authors, which are released weekly.
Becky’s chapter is called Ask a Busy Person and It Will Get Done, and she says that above all else it reflects her role not only as a business owner but as a mother, which “is why I do what I do”.
Becky added: “I'm so chuffed with the book, and it's success.”
A second volume of the book, featuring more female entrepreneurs, is now in production.
