Fine for waste disposal
AN ANDOVER woman has been fined after she failed to ensure that waste was disposed of properly.
Karina Brown, of Galahad Close, failed to take all measures to ensure that household waste was transferred to an authorised person for disposal.
She was fined £200, and ordered to pay £40 in costs plus a £34 victim surcharge.
Community order revoked
AN ANDOVER man jailed after sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl has had his community order from a previous driving offence revoked.
Benjamin Alan Cheyne, of Pilgrims Way, had been serving a community order imposed by Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court in October 2020.
He had been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to driving without a licence, insurance, or having a valid MOT certificate.
But after he was sentenced to eleven years in prison for sexually assaulting a girl, the 32-year-old had the community order from the previous offence revoked by magistrates in his absence.
They decided it was in the public interest to revoke the order.
Drink driver banned
A MAN has been banned from holding a driving licence after he was caught drink driving.
Kenroy Ortis Baptiste, of Picton Barracks at Bulford Camp, was spotted behind the wheel of a blue Ford on the A303 at Andover when he was over the drink drive limit.
He had 73 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath after the incident on February 28, which is more than double the legal limit of 35.
The 35-year-old was fined £350 and has been banned from driving for 17 months.
He must also pay costs of £85 and a £35 victim surcharge.
Failed to assist
A MAN has been fined after he failed to assist the council with an investigation.
Stuart John Asseter, of no fixed abode, was required under the Environment Act to attend the Test Valley Borough Council offices in Andover earlier this year to assist them with an investigation into an alleged environmental crime.
However, court documents show that he failed to attend and made no contact with the council.
Asseter, 31, pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court last week.
He was fined £320, and ordered to pay £40 in costs plus a £34 victim surcharge.
Restraining order breach trial
AN ANDOVER man will stand trial next month, accused of two counts of breaching a restraining order.
Ross Steven Hanlon, of Ward Close, pleaded not guilty to the offences at West Hampshire Magistrates’ Court in April this year.
He is accused of attending the property of and sending messages to a Totton woman against whom he is subject to a restraining order.
The 30-year-old will appear for summary trial on November 15.
He has been remanded in custody until this date.
Assault charge
AN ANDOVER man has avoided an immediate prison sentence after admitting to assaulting a woman in Salisbury in May.
David Trevor Guest, of Gallaghers Mead, pleaded guilty at Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was handed a 26-week sentence suspended for two years.
The 36-year-old must also complete a Building Better Relationships programme for 32 days, as well as attend 15 rehabilitation activity days and pay a victim surcharge of £128 and costs of £85.
Guest additionally admitted to driving in Salisbury on April 25 while over the alcohol limit.
He was fined £120.
