SANTA outfits were out in force last weekend as a Sutton Scotney based hospice charity held its festive fun run.
The event, which took place in Salisbury and Winchester on December 4 and 5, raised money for Naomi House, a children and young adult's hospice.
Naomi House nursing and medical staff provide individualised nursing care that helps to enhance short lives and allows local families to make the most of their precious time with their children.
Becca Pike, from Naomi House, said: “The event was a real success. It was great to be back in our local city and right in the heart of the city centre. The weather held out and the general public helped to cheer on the runners. A perfect festive and fun Sunday.”
The charity said that 550 people were registered to take part in the event and that they expect to raise £30,000.
Charlotte Patrick, senior events fundraiser, added: “We’re thrilled to see such fantastic support for Naomi House & Jacksplace. It was brilliant to see so many people get involved in a fun, colourful and festive challenge to raise money for their local hospices for children and young adults.
"Our Santa Fun Run is a long-standing event in Winchester and we’re proud that it’s become an important part of people’s Christmas traditions. It was also the first time we’d delivered a Santa Fun Run in Salisbury, and I’m so impressed by the individuals who came and supported our charity. I’ll look forward to seeing you all again next year!”
