A JUNCTION of the A303 near Andover was closed this evening as police said they were dealing with an incident involving the welfare of woman.
Police confirmed that the Portway Industrial Estate junction of the A303 was closed due to an incident.
It comes after police were called at 5.15pm by members of the community who became concerned for the welfare of a woman on the bridge.
Test Valley Cops wrote on Twitter: "You may have seen our earlier tweet about The Portway Industrial Estate junction of the A303, #Andover being closed due to concerns for the welfare of a woman on the bridge.
"The woman is now in the care of health services and the road has reopened.
"Thanks for your patience."
Whilst officers dealt with the incident diversions were put in place and drivers were asked to avoid the area.
