RESIDENTS of Picket Piece have said that they are happy to ‘finally’ have a convenience store in their neighbourhood, as One Stop opened its doors earlier this month.
As previously reported, One Stop opened on Locksbridge Road on Wednesday, February 2, with a special launch celebration on Saturday, February 5 attended by members of the local community.

Reacting to the news, Pippa Hulme, secretary of Picket Piece Residents Association, told the Advertiser: “The residents have been waiting a long time, five to six years in fact, for a shop to open on Locksbridge in Picket Piece. After the latest round of delays, it finally opened, and the feedback by residents has been positive - well stocked and bigger than expected. It has more than the emergency bread and milk often required!”
She continued: “Unexpected extras include a Tango Ice Blast machine, Costa Coffee and F'real milkshake fridge.
“The staff are very friendly as well, even when my 1.5-year-old old daughter attempted to run out with a box of grapes!
“Hopefully they find our community welcoming.”
The new store is open 7am until 10pm every day.
