A CARELESS driver who failed to stop after causing damage to a fence and a VW has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Dale Barnes, of Valley Rise, Upper Clatford, admitted to driving without due care and attention, and failing to stop after an accident on Duck Street, Abbotts Ann, on August 25, last year.
Magistrates ordered the 27-year-old to carry out 200 hours and imposed 10 penalty points on his licence.
He must also undergo 10 rehabilitation days, along with pay £85 court costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
TWO men have been handed suspended sentences after they admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour in Whitchurch.
Jason Modely, of Chertsey, Surrey, changed his plea to guilty on the first day of his trial at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.
The 37-year-old admitted to two charges both of which occurred to November 29, last year, with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Two other charges of threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause those persons to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against them by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence were dismissed after no evidence was offered.
Jason Modely was given a three-month suspended sentence for 12 months as the case was committed against people in their workplace. He must also pay £128 victim surcharge.
The same charge was also dismissed against Krishna Modely, also of Chertsey, in Surrey.
The 34-year-old admitted to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour in Whitchurch on November 29.
He was handed a three-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £128 victim surcharge.
A SHIPTON Bellinger man has been banned from driving for 12 months.
Darren Fitzgerald, of Gilberts Green, was caught in Salisbury Road, Andover, driving a Citroen C2 while over the drug drive limit on September 14, last year. He had 25 ug/L of cocaine in his blood - the legal limit is 10.
During a magistrates court hearing the 54-year-old also admitted to driving without insurance.
He was also fined £120, and must pay £85 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
No separate penalty was given for driving without insurance.
