What an experience. Gusting wind. Leaves flying sky high, circling round and round. Pigeons swaying on swirling electric wires, trying to raise their tails for a balance. My heavy door mat flew east? Branches throwing twigs close but not so close as expected. Lucky me.
Then my trip to the gym and Tesco goes well considering there may be fallen trees. But on the return the storm returns threatening it may take control again. I push a shopping trolley catching heavy rain falls, I carry bags along the path avoiding thorns attempting to scratch me. Trees return to swaying with a threat.
So here I sit, hopefully safe, sharing with all on facebook. I see photos of wild coasts, grey gushing waves across pebbled beaches. Wind pushing inside coats as folk try to see the sea. A grey sea with flashing white surf.
No electricity for two hours, oh my, a different world. No contacts. No pictures. Is the fridge still cold? Has the washing dried? What if? It was a delight it returned easily. Back to computer. The camera. Writing.
My log fire good but the last logs, so each twig and remaining chip, was so appreciated.
And still it’s the birds I view fluttering though the air, soaring so high, hovering to where?
Will the storm end? Are we in the red storm warning? Andover are you free?
