NEW active learning programmes that combines sports and education have been launched for primary school children in Hampshire.
Eastleigh-based health and wellbeing provider, ActiveMe 360 have launched a new physically active learning programme in Hampshire, designed to boost English scores amongst children and increase daily physical activity.
ActiveMe 360 have just this month launched English on the Move as a new service offering to schools across Hampshire, including to their existing 30 partner schools.
Maths on the Move’ saw children attend a 60-minute session once a week, with results showing that 93 per cent of the children saw an improvement in maths performance.
This worked out as an average improvement of 53.9 per cent when comparing pre- and post- programme assessment scores.
A total of 80 per cent of children also reported an increase in confidence relating to maths.
Through team games, plenty of movement and well-paced tasks, pupils focus on one learning outcome per lesson, reinforcing and practising what they have learnt in their usual English lessons.
English on the Move offers a chance to break down barriers by taking the same key curriculum concepts to a new environment, with a different way of learning.
The lessons have been developed by teachers and are taught by trained educators, they are also suitable for all abilities and can be tailored to meet the needs of pupils.
