A NETBALL club from Andover has received a donation of £1,701 from a sporting trust.
Gemini Netball Club based at Andover Leisure Centre received the charity donation from the Jamie G Sporting Trust, which offers sporting opportunities to young people in the Andover area and was set up in memory of Jamie Gentleman.
Presenting the cheque to the year 5 and 6 training groups, Jacqui Gentleman, a member of the trust, said: “It’s great to see how many more juniors have joined the club in the last year, especially with the Covid challenges we’ve all experienced. Keep up the great work.”
Gemini head coach Chrissy Bannerman said: “We are very grateful to Jacqui and everyone at the Jamie G Sporting Trust for a second donation.
“The first donation in 2020 provided equipment for our younger groups for children in school years 3-6. As we have continued to develop and expand the second donation provided new equipment for our older junior groups starting with year 7 and 8 this season.”
Gemini head coach Sharon Duffield said: “The new equipment has been a massive support and will continue to provide opportunities for future older groups as we continue to grow from the grass roots.”
Gemini Netball Club was founded by twins Bannerman and Duffield in 2020.
