A POST Office service will re-open in part of Andover next month, following its closure at the end of last month.
As previously reported, the previous branch at 155C Weyhill Road closed in November 2021 due to the resignation of the operator.
Since then the Post Office has been in discussions about how the service can be provided in the area, and now it has been confirmed that the provision will open at the One Stop, 80 Weyhill Road, on April 12 at 1pm.
A new operator has been agreed to be appointed to provide Post Office service at this new location.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “Weyhill Road Post Office will be one of our local style branches with Post Office services offered alongside the retail counter.
“Introducing a local style branch alongside a successful retail store is the most effective way to safeguard sustainable Post Office services in the local community into the future.”
The opening hours would be Monday – Sunday 7am – 8pm. This would offer 91 hours of Post Office service a week, which the company says "would make it very convenient to visit".
