TWO members of staff at an Andover estate agents have raised nearly £500 for a charity close to their hearts.
Andy McElligott and Clare Bladen, both work at Brockenhurst Estate Agents in London Street and completed the Fleet Half Marathon last month.
Inspired by the tragic loss of a close friend’s mum in 2020 as a result of Sepsis caused by a bed sore, Andy was determined to show his support by raising money and awareness for Sepsis Research FEAT, the UK’s only Sepsis Research Charity.
Andy teamed up with Clare, who is an avid runner, and together the pair took on the event on Sunday, March 20, crossing the line in under two hours.
They have so far raised £455 in support of the cause, with the fundraising page remaining open.
Posting to Facebook, their company wrote: “Great job Andy and Clare – the Brockenhurst Team are proud of you both!”
Andy added: “I’m really thrilled Clare and I got together to complete the half marathon. We wanted to do it for a good cause, and Sepsis is a cause for me that’s so close to home and definitely gave us the motivation to raise some money and most importantly get over the line!
“I’m so happy to have done it with the support of a close friend and colleague, along with the team from Brockenhurst cheering us on!”
