A COLLABORATION between Test Valley Arts Foundation, Chapel Arts Studios and Andover BID has been awarded £9,408 from the Arts Council’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF).

The grant will be used to put on a Street Festival in Andover town centre on Friday, June 3, between 11am and 5pm. A rich medley of food, music, dance and art will create an activity trail for all the town’s residents to enjoy.

Visitors will be able to sample different cultural dishes at food stalls along the high street, enjoy a line up of music and dance and take part in free creative workshops at venues throughout the town centre.

Shelley Coburn, events manager at Andover BID, said: “This is to be a vibrant and inclusive event in Andover Town centre. We’re inviting local businesses and community groups to take part so that it truly represents the people of Andover today.

“Right now we are looking for stallholders for the Food Trail. Please contact us if you’d like to have a stall and share the food you love to cook and eat with the whole community!”

The fund is aimed at ensuring that creativity plays an important role in local community celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen!s Platinum Jubilee and that housands of people from communities all across England will have the opportunity to take part in exciting creative events.

Made possible thanks to National Lottery players and administered by UK Community Foundations on behalf of the Arts Council, the Let’s Create Jubilee Fund will support a huge range of projects throughout England. Some 44 community foundations have been awarded grants across the country.

“This June, we’ll see communities across England coming together to celebrate a historic milestone for this country.

“I’m excited to see these projects brought to life in villages, towns and cities across the country as our wonderfully creative communities celebrate The Queen!s Platinum Jubilee.”
